Welcome to the Woodstock Town Council website

On the left hand side of this page you will find links to other pages detailing the dates of meetings, a list of Councillors and their contact addresses, information on our Property and Environmental interests, our current annual budget, and many links to other useful local websites and enterprises.

We hope you find the site useful.  It is currently under construction (some sections may be incomplete) and we would be very pleased to receive comments and ideas that we might include (Contact Us).

Woodstock is a town about seven miles to the north of Oxford City.  It is a small market town with a population of some 2600 people.  It lies within West Oxfordshire District Council and the administrative County of Oxfordshire.  It's main tourist attraction is Blenheim Palace, home of the Dukes of Marlborough since 1722 and a World Heritage site.

Woodstock is also an important town in its own right, with an enviable range of quality shops, hotels, restaurants and pubs.  As a place to live it is unsurpassed with over 35 active clubs, societies and other community groups, two highly rated schools, a library, an outdoor swimming pool, and miles of glorious open countryside spreading north, east and west.  The Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural beauty is just a couple of miles away, Shakespeare's Stratford upon Avon less than an hour's drive, and the "wool" towns of Chipping Norton and Witney just twenty minutes by car or bus.

Indeed there are excellent public transport links to these towns and to the university City of Oxford.  Buses run to Oxford every 30 minutes.

Much more detail and town council information will be added as this site is developed.
