The Town Council is served by a group of dedicated personnel.

The Town Clerk
Peter Anderson

The Town Clerk is effectively the Chief Executive of the Council.  The Clerk is responsible for legal and administrative advice and procedures for the Council, and for ensuring that the Council acts properly and within the law.  He is responsible for all the other staff employed by the Council.
Peter has worked in local government for most of his career. He took early retirement from his job as Assistant Director of Democratic and Legal Services with the Vale of White Horse District Council in 2004 when the Council re-structured its management team.
  


The Responsible Financial Officer
Mike Upham


The Responsible Financial Officer, or RFO, is the Council's accountant and is responsible for managing the towns accounts, and ensuring its budgets are prepared and managed in accordance with good practise and meet the requirements of the auditors.  Mike comes from a banking background and on taking retirement joined Woodstock Town Council on a part time basis.

 

The Town Clerk's Assistant
Val Read

The Town Clerk's Assistant runs the day to day management of the office, town hall and community centre bookings and deals with many of the routine enquiries made to the Council.
Val joined the Council in 1987 and has amassed a wealth of local information which is an invaluable asset to the town.  She also assists the Registrar at the town hall weddings.


Senior Administration Assistant
Zita Lewis

The Administration Assistant is a new job established to meet the growing demands on the Town Clerk.  The Admin Assistant will help take minutes at meetings, manage aspects of the Council's responsibilities such as Health and Safety and deputise for the Clerk in his absence.  It is presently a part time post but is expected to grow in the future.  Zita Lewis from Witney joined the staff on 18th March.

 

 

The Environmental Warden
Tony Wright

The Environmental Warden is employed to supervise and inspect the Recreational Play Areas, and the towns water-meadows to ensure public safety and good management.  The warden also carries out minor running repairs where appropriate and attention to the towns notice boards and bus shelters.   He also assists the Woodstock in Bloom volunteers to maintain the floral displays in the town to a high standard.

 

Town Hall Caretaker
Jane Hibberd

The caretakers manage the town hall and community centre buildings ensuring that hirers leave the premises in proper order and carrying out routine cleaning and maintenance.  They often work unsocial hours opening up and locking before and after functions.
Jane looks after the Town Hall and Chris the Community Centre.

 

Community Centre Caretaker
Chris Oliver

The caretakers manage the town hall and community centre buildings ensuring that hirers leave the premises in proper order and carrying out routine cleaning and maintenance.  They often work unsocial hours opening up and locking before and after functions.
