Woodstock in Bloom

On 5th September 2007 the Royal Horticultural Society presented Woodstock with a Gold award for its floral displays, the presentation of the town and for its attention to conservation
within the towns open spaces.  It was one of only three Gold awards in the entire Thames and Chilterns region, the others two (Banbury and Bicester) being in the large town category.

Woodstock is a beautiful town.  Everyone says so.  Hundreds of thousands of visitors every year come to Woodstock and take pleasure in the Cotswold architecture and the streets lined with cottages which, in summer, are ablaze with the colour.

The Town Council, the businesses and the residents all work to ensure that Woodstock's floral displays do justice to the town's unique character.

It isn't simply the floral displays either.  The town's watermeadows and its nature reserve on the old railway line at Budds Close are havens for wildlife and quiet contemplation in an unspoilt and natural environment.

Woodstock's efforts have impressed the judges of the Thames and Chiltern region of the Britain in Bloom competitions.  Woodstock has consistently been winner or joint winner of the Small Towns Category and has been given Silver Gilt awards in 2004, 2005 and 2006.

In 2006 the town was given a special award for Best Environmental and Conservation Project.
